Perelman Center for Political Science and Economics

The Ronald O. Perelman Center for Political Science and Economics (PCPSE) brings together the School of Arts & Sciences' strengths in engaged global Social Science research and teaching.  The PCPSE is located in a new facility that combines a rehabilitation of the existing building at 133 S. 36th Street with a significant addition to its north.

Planning Strategy

The Ronald O. Perelman Center for Political Science and Economics (PCPSE) brings together the School of Arts & Sciences' strengths in engaged global Social Science research and teaching. The PCPSE offers a new opportunity to consolidate in one location the University's Political Science Department and Department of Economics, along with related academic programs including the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI), the Christopher H. Browne Center for International Politics (Browne Center), the Center for the Study of Contemporary China (CSCC), the Penn Program on Democracy, Citizenship, and Constitutionalism (DCC), and the Penn Institute for Economic Research (PIER). The PCPSE is located in a new facility that combines a rehabilitation of the existing building at 133 S. 36th Street with a significant addition to its north. In this project, the existing building has been fully renovated, with its south and west façades kept and restored. The renovated existing building and the new addition are occupied and used in its entirety by the PCPSE.

Program

The building program includes a 120-seat auditorium, classrooms, undergraduate meeting rooms, a forum with a seating capacity of 72, as well as offices for faculty of both the Economics and Political Science departments.
