New High Bay Laboratory

Program

The High Bay Research Laboratory, which houses the Department of Physics and Astronomy's Balloon-borne Large-aperture, Sub-millimeter Telescope (known as BLAST), was replaced with a new 1,927 sq. ft. building that includes a crane beam and aircraft hanger style doors to allow the telescope to be calibrated with the night sky. The $4M project was substantially completed in July 2021.
