Thirteenth Year in a Row for Tree Campus Higher Education Honor
For the thirteenth year in a row, Penn has been named a Tree Campus Higher Education (formerly known as Tree Campus USA) by the Arbor Day Foundation. The Tree Campus Higher Education program recognizes college and university campuses that effectively manage their campus trees. To continually obtain this distinction, the University of Pennsylvania has met the five core standards for sustainable campus forestry required by Tree Campus Higher Education, including the establishment of a tree advisory committee, evidence of a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for your campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance, and the sponsorship of student service learning projects.
