FRES Staff Comes Together for Employee Recognition

In April, FRES held an Employee Recognition luncheon in Houston Hall’s Hall of Flags, honoring over 100 staff members celebrating years of service milestones at Penn as well as those who had received STEP-UP awards. We celebrated more than 1,500 years of experience, commitment, tradition, and great work done across campus.
Budgeting & Financial Manager Anita Hall was honored for forty years of service at Penn. Direction of Operations and Maintenance Faramarz Vakili said of Anita: “Anita is one of the smartest, kindest, most focused, and most thorough people I’ve ever seen in this business.”
Director of Housekeeping Wendy Sparks spoke about housekeepers Arcy Crute and Marion Evangelist, who both celebrated 35 years at Penn. She said: “Arcy has a love for the School of Medicine and its faculty and staff. He has spent over 35 years working in its buildings, and he is well-respected by his peers and colleagues.” Of Marion, she remarked: “Marion is one of the two people entrusted by a renowned Professor of Veterinary Medicine to clean his research laboratories. She’s also spent many summers working on summer turnaround, and was a pioneer of snow removal in inclement weather.”
Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Trades Supervisor Daniel Hazley said of steamfitter Chris Moscatelli, who celebrated 35 years at Penn, "Chris is even-keeled and grounded, and is always a voice of reason. He is highly respected by his team."
